Jean paints primarily in oils and pastels, creating landscapes and other images of the world around her. She enjoys working en plein air but also paints in her studio, mostly alla prima. Jean began painting while raising a family and working in Massachusetts and coastal Maine. Her teachers include David and Pam Lussier, Pamela Dulong Williams, Lisa Regopoulos, and Ernie Stonebraker. While living in Kittery Point, Maine, she was an active member of the Kittery Art Association and participated in many exhibits there. Now living in Montrose, Colorado, Jean and her husband are exploring the beautiful Western Slope.
Jean is a member of the Pastel Society of Colorado, Plein Air Artists of Colorado, Montrose Center for Arts (MCA) and the Delta Fine Arts Guild. Her work can be seen at the MCA gallery at 11 East Main St in Montrose, and at area business locations through MCA's Art in Motion program. She also participates in regional art shows including the DFA/BCCC show at The Creamery in Hotchkiss, the 610 Collective Open Show in Ridgway, and MCA's member art shows in Montrose. Her paintings have recently won awards in both Oil Painting and Pastels.
